Lifeforms on Earth in Peril!

The planet Earth has a delicate ecosystem that is easily affected by the actions of humans. We were lucky to have some educators from SeaLife Aquariums (Kelly Tarlton's) come to Owairaka and present some of the problems facing our oceans, especially marine plants and animals.

Yesterday we went to an assembly. The people that were there showed us and let us touch skin and bones from sea creatures. We also did some fun stuff like use balls for rubbish and put them in the right bin. After, we got to touch some stuff from the start of the assembly.

Yesterday room 17,18 and 16 went to the hall for a surprise. Can you guess why? Because we went to Kelly Tarlton’s Outreach. We learnt that Kelly Tarlton’s was named after a person that built the aquarium. Some of the kids did not know that’s why it was named that.
