Problem Solving...with Bodies.

We do a lot problem solving in maths, writing and art, but not so much "physically". So, one sunny Friday afternoon, Room 22 was set a challenge by their evil teacher, who was, in turn, inspired by the amazing Mr Faulder in Room 16. The challenge: move a team of four from one side of the court to the other. You only have two chairs and you can't touch the ground.

This was a problem. Four 7 - 9 olds find it difficult to fit on a single chair, despite rising class sizes. One innovator found a way to get across, but he left his team behind! Chairs and children were put in positions that were never intended by nature. Chair abuse became a trending statistic. There was chaos, heated debate, and almost audible brain strain.

Finally, a method seemed to emerge (two at a time going, one acting a ferry) and was quickly adopted by others. The race was on! There were three clear winners who managed to ferry two team members across the court each. All in all, a very fun afternoon!
