Our Waka

We have a saying in this school, He waka eke noa, we are all in this together.

Each class has a depiction of a waka with everyone in it, maybe photos or artwork. In Room 25, we agreed to go 3D!

First, we decided whether to base our waka on past, present, or future. There was a split vote on past and future, so we went with the vote... and tried to design a future waka with past influences.

Next, we had a design phase where everyone sketched a future/past hybrid waka. After another vote, we settled on this design by Miller.

We created model heads of ourselves and here is the end result.

  3. Kia ora Room 25 Adventurers,
Miller's design looks incredible. It must have been hard choosing just one. In our class, we have a Class Treaty that we all made together. We also have a cardboard Kauri tree for our Enviroschools. It says 'The mighty kauri protects, and so do we.'
We loved the model heads. You are a very creative class. We look forward to reading more of your blogs.
