The intrepid explorers of Room 17 have walked down the brambly lane, jumped the ditch and entered the magical realm of The Enchanted Wood, from the fantastic imagination of Enid Blyton.
Based around the discovery, by a trio of children, of an immense tree - The Faraway Tree - that touches the clouds and leads to other, strange worlds, our shared novel is one many parents will be familiar with from their own childhoods. If not, don't be surprised if "pop cakes", "Moon Face", or "Slippery Slip" suddenly becomes part of your child's language!
"The Sky is the Limit" is our school-wide theme, but the Faraway Tree shows that, once you reach the sky, the possibilities become limitless!
This ties in nicely to our space exploration focus - we need to go beyond our little sky to find worlds we can only dream of. Come and see the Faraway Tree! It's on our ceiling, too!
