School Art Project

We are working towards a whole school art project that will be unveiled in the coming weeks!

Room 25 has decided to focus on patterns and designs from Ethiopia. Here is the picture we are using as our inspiration.

Calendar Art Gallery

Hi, parents. Here are the pieces of art created by room 22. There was no brief; students were free to create any image they wished. The only restriction was on suitable materials. Enjoy!
If you wish to have your child's art or a photo turned into a calendar, card, diary, computer mouse mat or sketch pad,  just fill in the form that is coming home and send it back.

Roman Mosaics

What a mess! We have been looking at the mosaic art of the ancient Romans and Greeks. What they could achieve with coloured tiles is a quite amazing! Naturally, we thought we'd have a go to experience the process in a school art kind of way, using thick card instead of ceramic tiles, and PVA instead of grout. It has been quite a challenge; it requires patience and out-of-the-box thinking to make a recognisable image out of chunky squares.

Creating a Roman Town

As we look deeper into the lives of ancient civilisations, we are beginning to gather some information about the way they lived and the technologies they used. To help us visualise this, Room 22 has started to develop a landscape on which we will build a scale Roman town. We will endeavour to highlight some of the advances in technology that the Ancient Romans used in everyday life.

Collaborative Art for Oakley Stream

Room 22 artists have been learning to use the medium of pastels to create a "cityscape". This is part of a bigger artwork with contributions from several other classes. We are creating part of a mural for the planned work on the Oakley Stream - which aims to make the waterway a more natural environment.
